Here's the deal. My multi-talented and gifted youngest daughter Becca is going to guest post today. I'm excited to read what she has for us because anything this imaginative and fun fifteen-year-old writes is fantastic! She loves to sing, hang out with her friends and dreams of being on stage one day to change the world for Christ.
Her daddy bought her a pc this weekend so I asked her to write something for one of my weekly posts..let's hear it from the girl!
Becca ~thanks for posting!
Hello all! Becca here. I am dearest Kelly Liberto’s youngest daughter of three. I am a sophomore in high school and 15 years old. I attend Lehigh Valley Academy, a prestigious charter school where the lunch’s growl at you and the small hallways bustle with stressed smelly teens. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure I’ll appreciate my education later in life when I’m up on stage accepting my Grammy, deep sarcasm noted. But on a serious note, LVA has done a lot for me. Without the breath of fresh air that LVA had been for me I don’t think I would be here now, talking to you. Long story short, my public school experience in middle school had been pretty much terrible and I needed to leave.
My favorite colors are blue and red, my blood flows with music notes and the words of unwritten stories, and I am a hopeless romantic. I love a good romance book or sappy sonnets dripping with sugar and spice. Also, like my momma I am a writer. I write at least once a day, even if it’s just a short little blurb that I randomly created in my very odd and imaginative brain. When I’m not writing I’m singing. I’m pretty much always singing, either belting it out or humming to a tune I’ve probably made up or a song that’s stuck in my head. Speaking of songs and what not I like to write songs, granted they aren’t very good but it’s a good way of venting. Music and books are my escape from this world.
Enough about me, I am here to critique and critique I shall! I will be reviewing one of my favorite book series ever today. This series is called Warriors. It’s by Erin Hunter and these books have been my favorite series since the 4th grade. (Also, Erin Hunter isn’t a real lady, it’s an alias for 3 different authors that share the series.) It’s been 6 years since I discovered the beautiful books and I still have a deep rooted fondness for them. So, basically the books are about four groups of cats living in the forest. Yes you heard me ladies and gentlemen, CATS. But just keep on reading, these books are not what they seem.
These four groups have different names; Thunderclan, Windclan, Riverclan, and Shadowclan. They all live under a code and have their own cat heaven, called Starclan. There are currently 5 parts with 6 books each in the series and to my utter delight a 6th part is in the making of being published. Now, these books are written for middle readers. But honestly I think adults could read these books and really like them. They are full of equal parts of love, drama and fights. It really does keep you on your toes all throughout the series. If you are like me and you absolutely relish long series and a deep plot line, these books are for you. But what else would you expect from 3 different authors ideas all wrapped up into one book?
So that’s it for me, it’s been a pleasure talking to you. I really do hope you check out the series, they’re epic. Also, check out more of my mother’s blogs, it means a lot and she deserves all the love :-D SEE YA!
