Building a home office on a budget is easier than you think. I'm going to take you through a step by step process through the month of January. Let me know what you think :-) Day 1
Some things to think about before starting your renovations.
Choose a space in your home that will work out best for you~ a kitchen table, a small nook in the playroom area will work if you have little ones.
I chose my now adult daughter's bedroom to create a guest bedroom and office space for myself. Pretty messy, huh? Let's get to work.
I chose a neutral pallette and kept the walls of my extra room a neutral tan so that I can add new color as I choose because I get bored with my environment easily. This way it keeps the creative flow going and I can take a break from the monotony of working at home. You can find all sorts of ideas on Pinterest, or google images to give you ideas and keep the momentum of creating a space to call your own.
My oldest daughter gave me a purple blanket for Christmas and hubby gave me a purple shirt. This was my point of reference for pops of color in the room.
Which also reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures in the Psalms. 91:4
Like a bird protecting its young, God will cover you with His feathers, will protect you under His great wings; His faithfulness will form a shield around you, a rock-solid wall to protect you.
I also used Pinterest to find ideas on how to use the space available to me for a cozy efficient work area.
Seeing several clever ways of using space gave me the confidence to get organized for the New Year.
Next week, we'll talk more about using space, downsizing and purchasing items to help get you organized.
Until then, think about how you want to decorate your home office on a budget.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
